Delete your account and data

Applies to Olfana for Android (com.velanta.olfana) and iOS · Last updated 21 August 2026

There are two ways to delete your Olfana account. Both permanently remove your account and the data listed below. You do not need to give a reason.

Option 1 — In the app

This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately.

  1. Open Olfana and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Scroll to the very bottom of the Settings screen.
  4. Tap Delete account — it is the last button on the screen, directly below Sign out.
  5. Confirm when prompted.

You may be asked to sign in again first. This is deliberate. It stops someone who picks up an unlocked phone from destroying your account.

Deletion then runs on our servers. It normally completes within moments. It is not instantaneous, because it runs as a sequence of operations — but if it is interrupted, it resumes safely when retried rather than leaving your data half-removed.

Option 2 — By email

Use this if you cannot reach the app — for example you have lost your device, or you can no longer sign in.

Email olfanasupport@gmail.com from the email address registered to your account, and include:

That is enough for us to identify the account. We will verify that you control it before deleting anything, and we will email you to confirm when it is done.

Never send us your password. We will never ask for it, and no one at Olfana can read it — passwords are handled entirely by Google Firebase Authentication and never reach our systems. If anyone asks you to email a password, a verification code, or a payment detail in order to delete your account, it is not us.

How long it takes

RouteProcessing period
In the appImmediate. The deletion runs as soon as you confirm and normally completes within moments.
By emailWithin 30 days of us verifying that you control the account. In practice it is usually much sooner.

What is deleted

Both routes remove the same things:

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We cannot restore a deleted account, its content, or its username. If you want a copy of anything, save it before you delete.

What is retained, and why

RetainedWhy
Blocks other members placed against youThat record belongs to them, not to you. It contains your account identifier and no other information about you.
Reports you filed about other people’s contentKept after the reported content is removed, so that patterns of abuse remain visible and safety decisions can be reviewed.
Analytics dataHeld by Google Analytics for Firebase for its configured retention period. It is not linked to your profile once the account is gone.
Crash and diagnostic reportsHeld by Firebase Crashlytics under its standard retention.
Provider backupsDeleted data may persist briefly in our providers’ routine backups before being overwritten in the ordinary course.

Deleting content without deleting your account

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove something. Individual reviews, posts, lists, layering recipes, wear-diary entries and shelf entries can each be deleted in the app, and most profile fields can be edited directly.
